We're sponsoring CodeStrong, Appcelerator's Developers Conference

CodeStrongIf you're into mobile development (and you are :), you'll surely know what Appcelerator Titanium is. To put it simple, it's a framework that allows you to build cross-platform (iOS and Android) mobile apps, using javascript as the programming languages and a number of classes that wrap platform-specific UI components and capabilities (such as the accelerometer, camera, file system & storage, compass etc.). Read more here, if you develop for more than just a platform it might be worth giving it a look and considering it.

Appcelerator has organized a 3-day conference all about its platform, CodeStrong. It will be held in San Francisco, Sept 18-20. There's also a Hackathon contest, with a first prize of 10,000$!

We love the product and the initiative, and thus we're sponsoring it (you see our logo on the conference's homepage). We'll also attend to the conference, and we'll have a booth there to meet existing users, and show what we do to new ones. IF you happen to be there as well, come say Hi, and get a nice gadget for free ;)

New integration with iAd and InMobi + better Android Market support

Some cool things happened since our last post on the blog, around two month ago. (Looks like it's way easier to post short updates on Twitter rather than writing posts on a blog...at least unless you have a guy with the passion to and time to write ;)

This post lists the most important news:

  1. Mopapp now integrates with Apple iAd
  2. Mopapp now integrates with InMobi, a great multi-platform ad network which is serving 36 billion montly impressions of ads!
  3. We improved the integration with Android Market (free apps). The previous version imported the total downloads/installs as retrieved from the Android Market's dashboard page, thus during the first run it imported the totals up to that day for that particular day => as a consequence you saw an abnormal peak of downloads for the day of the first run, and normal downloads after that (because after the first import it was able to calculate the delta between the current day and the previous days). The new importer looks at the detailed Statistics page Google added some time ago (after we implemented the first version of the importer), and thus it solves the problem => no more initial peak, and more accurate numbers in general. We run a script to solve the initial-peak-issue also on accounts that had been already processed by the previous importer.
  4. We upgraded the automatic importer for Windows Phone 7 apps, after Microsoft did an almost complete update of the AppHub's Dashboard pages.
  5. We won the Microsoft BizSpark European Summit competition, held in Brussels on June 14th. It was a great, great honor...and a surprise for us, given how cool some of the other 14 finalist startups were! It was an awesome event, and we're so happy about the outcome ;)

These are just the main "news"...but we've been working (and have deployed) on many more little details and tweaks, that we hope are improving Mopapp a bit day by day.

If you want to follow what happens more closely and in a more timely manner, please follow our Twitter stream @mopappteam ;)

It's with great, great pleasure that we can at last pubicly announce that Mopapp has been selected as one of the 15 start-up finalists for this year's Microsoft BizSpark European Summit! (here the official announcement of the finalists)
We're eager to be in Brussels on June 14th for this event, as it looks like it has everything to be an awesome opportunity to hear the experiences of cool people from cool companies, and to share our own ideas and plans ;) If you happen to be in Belgium in that period, come to meet us in person!

Introducing the new API to export your data

One of the most common questions we've been getting from our users is something like this: "ok, Mopapp is cool and its charts look awesome...but I want more! I'm a suber uber export of Excel (or Numbers, or what it is...), so can I just export the data your import from the various stores, including your currency transformations and profit calculations???"

Starting from now, the answer is YES. You just need to use the brand new List API call - do a single GET HTTP call, and you'll get your data in JSON or XML format. You can refer to this article to read the documentation.

Amazon Appstore has been integrated

The title says it all :) Mopapp is now able to import downloads/sales from Amazon Android Appstore (both automatially and through manual upload of its csv files), and some users are already tracking their apps there!

To tell the truth we still need to add the automatic import of reviews published on the Amazon Appstore, but that should be pretty easy and will be available soon.

In the meantime, we just added the automatic import of reviews in the WP7 Marketplace, so that store is now fully integrated into Mopapp (downloads/sales + reviews). Enjoy!

Working on Amazon Appstore integration

It looks like Amazon Appstore is the cool new Android store these days, with its innovative Test Drive simulator for trying out the apps from the browser before purchasing and/or downloading them, and with its innovative revenue scheme and its special offers (discounts, the daily-free-app etc.). (you can read more about the store's feature on this TechCrunch post)

The store is already getting traction, with thousands of apps already published, and many blogs and mobile-releated magazines talking about it.

That's why we at Mopapp want to integrate Amazon AppStore's sales/downloads data into our reports, like we do with all other major stores (iTunes, Android Market, WP7 Marketplace, App World, GetJar, Handango, ...)

We're already investigating it, and are waiting that one of our Android app (Postino) gets approved so that we can study all the details about their data format for the import/integration. However, if you already have apps (free and/or paid) published there, and would like to help us by beta testing our integration, please get in touch now at support@mopapp.com!

Mopapp is now integrated with the Windows Phone 7 Marketplace

If you have WP7 apps published through Microsoft's AppHub on the Windows Phone 7 Marketplace, you can now track your sales/downloads with Mopapp's unique dashboard and reports. Since AppHub's reports are quite poor right now, Mopapp will be very useful even if you develop and publish only for the WP7 platform.

If instead you have apps on multiple platforms (iPhone, Android etc.) then it will be precious because with a single, clear user interface you'll be able to monitor how your apps are doing on the various platforms and stores (without manually switching and logging to the single stores' control panels, export the data if possible, transform it to a common format, and analyze it in some manual way...).

Try Mopapp now, it's free!
